Build an itinerary around curiosity

A memorable hotel can be the beginning of a trip rather than the whole story. Choose a few neighbourhoods, markets, galleries, or restaurants that interest you. Keep the plan flexible enough to stay longer somewhere that captures your attention.

Book the meal that matters

If a particular restaurant is central to your visit, confirm its current opening days and reservation policy directly. Ask about dietary needs, menu format, cancellation terms, and transport home. Leave other meals open for more spontaneous discoveries.

Understand the destination

Read practical information about local customs, appropriate clothing, photography, and respectful behaviour at cultural sites. Learn a few useful phrases. Ask guides about the context behind what you are seeing, and seek out businesses that explain their connection to the local community.

Choose experiences thoughtfully

When considering a tour, workshop, or conservation activity, ask who runs it, who benefits, and what the experience actually involves. Specific, verifiable information is more helpful than a broad sustainability claim. Travel well by paying attention, allowing time, and treating the place as someone else’s home.
